A review on the Bayanihan Performance at Dubai Creek Park

Bayanihan - the official national folk dance company of the Philippines has performed on six continents, and in sixty-four countries and 658 cities worldwide. The company was the first international company to appear on Broadway as well as the first non-American dance company to perform at the New York State Theatre. They have won both international and national awards including the Gold Temple Award for overall excellence in dance, music, costume and production at the 47th Annual Folkloric Festival in Sicily in 2002 and in 2005, the "Diwa ng Lahi" award, the highest honor given by the City of Manila for outstanding achievement in culture and the arts. The Bayanihan has evoked a new pride in their cultural heritage and their country has recognized this by declaring May 27th of every year a national day to commemorate and propagate the Bayanihan spirit of working together as a people, which is the ancient Filipino tradition for which the company is named.

Just last night, the Bayanihan Dance company performed at the amphitheatre in Dubai Creek Park, UAE. Truly an amazing, fantastic, and execellent performance. The Bayanihan as usual took everyone’s breath away with their astounding performance of the Philippine folk dances like singkil, maglalatik and tinikling.

It is truly one-of-a-kind performance. Kudos to the Bayanihan Dance Company!

The Bayanihan Dance Group visits Dubai

has been invited to perform as part of the UAE
National Day Celebrations on the 3rd December 2007 -
Monday, at the Dubai Creek Park Amphitheater - for
FREE!

They are one of only 4 national dance groups that have
been requested to perform for this celebration.

Please pass this information to friends, family,
colleagues - sa buong barangay - let us support and
watch their perfromance. It will definitely be another
breath taking performance so let us all be part of it.
